Make your parasol Spring proof!

Spring is in the air and we’re enjoying the first rays of sunshine: time to get your parasols out from under the dust!

Parasols are subject to rain, sun, heat waves, wind and just need to be able to withstand it all: some cleaning tips are definitely in place.

One of the best ways to keep a parasol fabric beautiful is to brush off the dirt before it sets into the fabric, and wipe off stains after spills and clean them immediately. The sooner you clean the stains the easier they will be to remove.

A stain on your fabric?

1. Dab with a clean dry cloth

2. Spray a cleaning solution on it: mild soap mixed with water

3. Rinse the fabric thoroughly to remove all soap residue

4. Open the parasol and leave to dry in open air

What about mould?

Mould does not grow easily on our fabrics but can form on other substances that have not been removed from the fabric. In such cases, you can use a small amount of bleach (see instructions). Use a sponge or soft brush to clean the surface and rinse well afterwards. Let the fabric dry in open air.

If the fabric has too many wrinkles, you can use an iron on the synthetic setting. Test on a small piece first as irons can vary in temperature. Definitely DO NOT use steam and do not iron on the steam setting.
